It’s really easy to become a Buzzard.
If you would like to become an official member, all it takes is 4 check-ins–in your lifetime! Just note the dates and call signs of the Net Control Station. Send this list and a $5 donation to the Net Manager, N8DC Dave (Good on QRZ).
You can also upload your log and send your donation at the bottom of this page!!
You’ll receive a very nice, numbered certificate suitable for framing similar to this one:

The Michigan Buzzards Roost Net meets daily on 75 meters on or about 3930 Khz at 21:00 UTC. On Saturday on 3930 and on Sunday we are on 3929 as a roundtable instead of a formal net. There is a public service/emergency net that we do not want to interfere with on Sunday that is near the 3930 frequency.
What does the Michigan Buzzards Net do?
Although it is a directed net under the guidance of a net control station, its main purpose is to provide a place for Radio Amateurs to meet and rag chew. Long-lasting friendships develop quickly, and you will become a member of the “Committee and Family of Buzzards” in just a short time.
Founded in 1934, the Michigan Buzzards Roost Net is the grand-daddy of all nets! It has evolved and changed through the years to remain one of the most favorite nets on the air today. Daily rotating net control stations keep each net “fresh” and interesting, and the subjects are usually varied and thought provoking. Sometimes, all we talk about is the weather!
Please keep in mind we don’t promote political or religious discussions. This only seems to cause problems as to the very different political and religious views of the Amateur Radio Community.
If you are a General class license or higher, please come and join us! If you’re not a General class amateur, then listen in on the nets. When you’re ready, join us to broaden your amateur radio experience and enjoyment.
Give the Michigan Buzzards Roost Net a try. Our purpose here is to promote friendship and fellowship among radio amateurs and of course to have fun!
